with tapering barrels inscribed 'London', engraved with a scroll over the breeches and formed with a moulded band, engraved breech tangs, signed rounded border-engraved lock engraved with foliage on the tails, figured walnut full stocks (minor chips and cracks), engraved brass mounts comprising openwork side-plates decorated with wrigglework, trigger-guards decorated with a rococo flower on the bow and with acorn finials, escutcheons inscribed 'I Margreeve, Crumpwood, 1779' (perhaps later), pear-shaped pommels engraved with foliage, a pair of ramrod-pipes, and horn-tipped ramrods, probably the original
