with two-stage barrel fitted with bead fore-sight (the barrel slightly shortened and the sight added in its early working life), inscribed 'A Rom' over the breech, external mechanism comprising mainspring and sear on the left and cock and pan screwed into the right-hand side of the breech (the sear spring and trigger springs missing), swelling flattened butt fitted with scalloped oval cap, moulded trigger-guard, a pair of slender rings for the ramrod, and original steel ramrod
