A COMPOSITE MATCHLOCK PISTOL, 17TH CENTURY AND LATER
with two-stage barrel moulded at the muzzle and octagonal over the breech, flat lock retained by two side nails, fitted with shaped serpentine and pan with sliding cover, hardwood full stock inlaid with staghorn pellets, scrolls, segmental lines and a mermaid riding a sea lion, moulded steel mounts and steel-tipped ramrod (the steel parts in aged condition)
